FAQs

Wondering what to expect from therapy at Thoughtful Talk LLC?
Here are answers to the most common questions I get from parents, students, and caregivers.

  • I work with students ages 11–18, including middle school, high school, and young adults who need support with social communication, language skills, or fluency.

  • Thoughtful Talk LLC is a private pay practice.
However, I can provide a superbill—an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurer to ask about out-of-network speech therapy benefits.

  • I offer 30 and 45-minute therapy sessions. Rates vary based on session length and service type. For a full rate sheet, please contact me directly or schedule a free consultation.

  • Currently, all sessions are offered via secure teletherapy, in my home or home visits can be arranged based on location. I also offer school-based consultations.

    • Evaluations typically take 1–1.5 hours and include a written report.

    • Therapy sessions are individualized and goal-driven. We’ll discuss progress regularly and adjust goals as needed.

  • I use a strengths-based, relationship-centered approach that respects each teen's pace and personality. Sessions are structured but flexible, using real-life activities, role-play, and humor to make learning meaningful and relatable.

  • Yes! Collaboration is encouraged. I provide regular updates, share strategies you can use at home, and am happy to connect with school staff when needed (with your permission).

  • I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance (or no-shows) may be subject to a cancellation fee.

  • Absolutely. Thoughtful Talk LLC is a HIPAA-compliant practice. All forms, sessions, and communications are handled securely and confidentially.
